#9 Wiki! Wiki!

Despite my inital snarky reservations - I find myself referring more and more to Wikis for quick answers to burning questions. However - like Paul Gilster says - use with caution. The ease of the edit function kind of scares me - but is really cool if you want to add your own 2 cents worth. It's a good starting point for students and many of the articles have good foot notes, links, etc. I found a really cool trains glossary that I shall forward on to my "foamer" husband - look that up in your Wikipedia!

...a Delicious taste!

With Delicious I was able to bookmark favorites - and tagging makes access much easier.
It would help a student better understand a professor's interests and views.

Finally got the Worldcat toolbar installed after "issues" with some of the other choices. It's a neat little tool for searching other collections that students and other patrons can easily use.

Jing is pretty cool - especially for quick, visual ref/directional video /answers. It was a little intimidating at first, many thanks to Mr. Wiseacre for his patient help.

I really enjoyed the Pollak Flickr presentation - especially the archival material. It would be nice to present a photo history during new student orientation.

All in all it's been a positive exercise except for having to create accounts - reminds me of hauling all those club cards around in my wallet.
